  Education and youth policy   Secondary general education

Preparatory classes are a form of mandatory training for children of senior preschool age. They were established due to a number of reasons, but above all, because of massive closing of preschool organizations, which in 1995 to 1999 resulted in absolute majority of children’s entering primary schools not having achieved the required level of general personal development, and not having been prepared for studying at school in terms of psychological, cognitive, and general cultural background. Most of those children, when they found themselves in a new situation at school, felt uncertainty when orientating in the environment. Such first-grade pupils’ unconfident behavior caused their classmates’ negative emotions, which, of course, hurt their mentality and aroused unkindly attitude even on the part of the teachers. For that matter, in 1998-1999, Kazakhstan Ministry of Education & Science, in terms of preparing the draft Law “On Education”, initiated the working out of a new regulation on mandatory, free preparation for school for 5 to 6 age children in government-owned education institutions in terms of comprehensive education program, so called PREPARATORY CLASS.

School “Daryn” for talented children

New approach to education helps grow not just worthy but eminent generation of Kazakhstan citizens. Special attention is paid to talented children, because one of the greatest harms for talented children is ‘underuse’ of their intellect. If curriculum does not comply with abilities, then power of will and resistance to hardships are not being formed, as well as habit to constant working: they get everything too easily. To realize the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan’s Order "On Government Support and Development of Schools for Talented Children", the school was established for talented children, named ”Daryn”.
One of the ways to find and develop talented schoolchildren is national Olympiad on comprehensive disciplines. Olympiad promotes development of schoolchildren’s cognitive interest, deepening of their knowledge on science’s fundamentals, as well as their general intellectual development.
Pursuant to the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan’s Resolution  of 23 Aug. 1999 On "Altyn Belghi Plaque",to be awarded the plaque are:

  • Schoolchildren who have demonstrated excellent behavior and have had final marks "5" in all disciplines in curriculum according to state mandatory standards for basic and senior stages of secondary education;
  • Schoolchildren who have passed final state exam for secondary education course with excellent mark.
    When taking contest for getting education grants (or loans - in case if there are no grants), those awarded “Altyn Belghi” Plaque have priority right.
